Hi,
I just happened to stumble across your blog accidently (I was looking for nursing poetry). Congratulations on embarking on a new career and let me be the first to say thank you. There is always going to be a need for compassionate people in nursing.
I just wanted to tell you that I am a CNA in massachusetts and also an RN student who will graduate in May.
The healthcare field will always have some people in it that we don't think should be there. The motivation for being in that field is going to be different depending on who you talk to. As horrible as it may seem, there are plenty of caullous, drug addicted, mentally inadequate people who go into the health care field because it offers them a sense of balance. Their lives are opposite from their careers. Sometimes the people you think would be the worst are the best and vica verca.
All we can do is set a good example for our peers and remind our co-worker's that we should be there for the patient.
